Many consider Woods of Terror to be the most intense haunt in the Carolina’s and its hard to argue that designation once you have paid a visit to this terrifying scream park. The midway featured here has a dark carnival/fair type of feel to it and if you arrive early enough this is where you will experience one of the best preshows in the Carolina’s. Most shows feature a live band and pyrotechnics this sets the tone of the night as the haunts lead character , Bonedaddy himself takes the stage to preform the national anthem after a freakish parade of horror that showcases the fears you will be facing once you take on The Woods of Terror Haunted Trail a little later in the evening. While you wait for your group to be called there are several shops to explore and treats to get and games that can be played but the character interaction in the midway is some of the best you will find anywhere. You never know or what you will come across as the Woods of Terror often brings in some of the traveling feature creatures from other haunts as guest actors to greet the willing. Each set on the trail is so detailed you cannot see everything in one trip through and the costumes have just as much attention to detail. The characters are all professionally trained each season and many end up being long term terrors. The Woods of Terror is a well seasoned show that cooks up fear like none other. No matter where you are in the Carolina’s this is one of the haunts that you should experience and see for your self what makes these woods so terrifying! 9 8

The Fear Carolina Haunt district two features Fears Favorite Haunted Attractions in the heart the Carolina’s, the Piedmont region of North Carolina. This is the most populated District and there are more choices for fright here than any other district in the Carolina’s. District two features what we believe to be the oldest haunt in the Carolina’s it also features two of the biggest and best haunts you will find in the entire Nation! The haunted trail here takes around 30 minutes or so to complete and that’s at a pretty decent pace. The lines are staggered out to where you rarely if ever see another group which adds quite a bit to the overall experience. Spookybottom haunted trail put themselves on the radar by being the Victims Choice best haunt in only there 3rd year of existence. A few years have passed since then but as the haunt grows, so does the Fear. The haunted trail is just under a mile long and gets a make over each season with a few additions during the season it’s self. Spookybottom prides it’s self in the backwoods style haunts of yesteryear feel and they do it well. Spookybottom also features an off season haunt that is rather unique as they feature Gellyball guns that you can shoot at zombies as you make your way though their modified haunt in search of survival. There is always a DJ or a live band in the midway on Friday and Saturday nights. One of our favorites is The South Wind Band who will be appearing at some point during the 2024 season! If you are a seasoned haunt fan you already know dimly lit sets in some really dark woods make for the kind of scares that made us like haunting to begin with. One things for sure, you’ll need to catch your breath in the Midway next to one of their cozy complementary fire pits and collect your thoughts before getting back on the road home! Starting off as a spooky dare amongst friends to explore a creepy old farm house ( many believe it really is haunted). Has turned into 40 years of fun for Haunt fans from all over. Although this is the largest Scream Park in the Carolina’s, Spookywoods has done a great job of keeping your experience as personal as it can possibly be at an attraction of this size. The Midway feels more like a town as you stroll down “main street” with characters featuring some of the most elaborate costumes that can be created. From T-shirts and snacks to sweet treats and adult drinks most anything you could want can be found amongst the shops that line the corridor. As you begin your trek down the trail you will begin in the very same house that started it all for Spookywoods, the haunted farm house. As you catch your breath while waiting for the tram the thought will go through your mind, if that’s the opening act, whats to come? It is Ironic that Fears Favorite scene in 2023 was the Icons scene at this Iconic haunt. Once experienced, If you are a horror movie fan. I think you will agree you would be hard pressed to find a truer to scene experience than what ICONS provides. All your favorite Horror Icons are present in ways you probably haven’t experienced before all while you are in the middle of it all! This was one of a few really WOW attractions for us in 2023 and all of the above is just the first half of this haunt! A Spooky corn maze , another haunted house that features some high tech projection technology, as well as a long haunted trail are all still waiting, they don’t really want you , they want your screams. And Spookywoods is one of the best at getting them. This haunt was completely transformed in 2023 and after a year of settling in, touching up and adding to, this haunt is on a lot of haunt fans short list for must visit haunts in District 2 this season. There are 2 separate Haunted Trails featured here and both have all the ingredients necessary for an evening of Fear. The actual haunt time here is around 35 minutes and features some really good actors who have made it their goal to make you soil yourself. The Forbidden Acre and Coffin creek are the two main attractions at the haunt and while each of them provides a unique experience with updated props, sets and scares we have had a lot of fun in the midway at this haunt as well. The way the midway is set up makes this a true family haunt! Make sure you take the time to explore the grounds, play some games including free cornhole or just chat it up with some of the midway characters . If you have someone in your group that’s not a fan of haunting The 13th Acre is still a great place for them to join the fun as you have the option of renting a fire pit and taking in a cool fall Carolina night. Add in the smores option and it’s close enough to perfect for me! As the season gets busier this is one of the haunts that a fast pass really benefits you and crowds can be large. If you are really into the art of scaring, upgrade to the Vip passes and you will get to go behind one of the scenes and provide a scare or two yourself to a few of your fellow patrons. Haunted Trail ATTRACTIONS Featured Haunted House The Original Hollywood Horror Show, located in Snow Camp NC is easily accessible to Raleigh as well as Greensboro putting it in one of the highest concentrated areas of haunting in the Carolina’s. So how do they compete with the much larger haunts? They do so by being different! The title Horror Show is taken literal at this haunt and while they feature a guided haunted trail that has some of the most detailed sets in the Carolina’s. It’s not even the haunted trail that sets The Original Hollywood Horror show apart from others in the area! That distinction would have to go to the Houdini style Midway Magic show that you may even get to be a part of! Dean and Star Jones host the Magic show and they happen to also be the owners of the haunt. The Jones Brothers have been apart of the Hollywood make up industry for close to 40 years and have been a part of such movies and shows such as Star Trek, The Hunger games, Lincoln, The Abyss and many more. These guys know how to put on a show and its on full display on most nights at The Original Hollywood Horror show! The thing we love the most about This haunt though has to be the Horror museum. It features autographs and memorabilia from the dawn of the horror genre all the way to current day. The Original Hollywood Horror show also brings in some very special guests from time to time during the season so be sure to keep check on their social media pages and on their website as you never know who you may see there! VISIT WEBSITE FOR The MORE DETAILS! Haunted House Haunted Trail ATTRACTIONS Featured Boogerwoods haunted attraction is located in Rockwell NC not far from I-85 between Charlotte and Greensboro. This is one of our Favorite haunts simply because it is so unique. The show at Boogerwoods is in our opinion the most interactive haunt in the Carolina’s. This is a guided haunt and the guides add elements to the experience that cannot be found anyplace else. When you visit Boogerwoods you are not only at the show but you are also in the show. There are surprises around every corner. you will Duck, Dodge and we’ve even seen a couple of people dive over the years, But, that’s not recommended remember you are in the woods. The Boogerwoods experience also gives visitors one of the more private settings we have been in. All you see are the same 10 people you start the trail with along side your guides for the night and the Boogers you will encounter along your way. Many haunts have a 12 and up recommendation and I would say the same for Boogerwoods but we have seen fans from 7 to 70 enjoy this haunt! We even have one family member that’s not the biggest fan of haunted attractions and she LOVES Boogerwoods. As you conquer the trail you will have more than just a few jump scares, you will laugh harder than you have in a while and have plenty that will be talked about for the days to come. Big things are returning to Boogerwoods in 2024 after a fire almost closed this attraction in 2022. Everyone who likes the Halloween season needs to have the Boogerwoods haunted attraction experience.
